Elaine Tan - Co-Founder and Village Chief
With years of experience in brand marketing and television content development. Elaine is a Singaporean and she has a deep knowledge of both Asian and western markets from her time working in both. She built her career in leading global advertising agencies and worked with clients such Mars. P&G and Disney. She also led marketing for Nickelodeon across Asia, before bringing her experience to The Urban Kampong. Elaine is a member of the board of the Jane Goodall Institute Singapore and is also involved in other environmental, educational and community projects.
Jonathan Hardy - Co-Founder and Firestarter
Hailing originally from the UK, Jonathan has spent the majority of career in Asia working with some of the world’s leading media and technology brands such as Time Warner, Dow Jones, DoubleClick and Microsoft. Jonathan has used his business development skills to build a strong track record of launching new businesses, products and technologies. He shares this knowledge via both consultancy and teaching work. Jonathan also has a strong interest in South East Asian history which he pursues through both professional and volunteer heritage related projects.
